To develop middle management within the state administrative apparatus and enhance their leadership skills in alignment with the national objectives of Oman Vision 2040, and to prepare them to face the rapid changes occurring globally, the fourth cohort of the "National Program for Leadership Development and Future Foresight" was launched today. This program is part of a series of strategic programs and initiatives launched by the Royal Academy of Management and was designed in collaboration with the Eller Executive Education Center at the University of Arizona.

The fourth cohort of the program includes 30 participants occupying the positions of Assistant General Director, Department Director, Assistant Department Director – and their equivalents – from various units of the state administrative apparatus. The participants will engage in a six-month learning journey consisting of five educational units covering a range of leadership skills and knowledge. This experience is expected to refine their abilities to face various professional challenges, enhance the operational mechanisms of middle management within the state administrative apparatus, and build bridges between the public and private sectors to enhance global competitiveness.

Regarding the launch of the fourth cohort of the National Program for Leadership Development and Future Foresight, Dr. Fathiya bint Abdullah Al-Rashediya, Assistant President of the Royal Academy of Management for Program Affairs, stated that the program aims to elevate the government work system to provide better services that keep pace with developments and achieve the public good. She explained that the program is designed to ensure a fundamental and sustainable change in participants' thinking styles and leadership skills, transforming their leadership mentality and increasing their self-awareness and understanding of their behavior and that of others. This, in turn, enhances their potential and capabilities in leading teams more effectively.

Dr. Fathiya also mentioned that the Academy believes human capital is the greatest wealth a country possesses and is the driving force behind national wealth development and growth. In this regard, the Academy invests in the development of individuals' knowledge, skills, and experiences according to the rapidly changing global environment.

The program includes educational units based on various learning methods, combining accelerator experiences, individual and group coaching, personal interviews, and research projects, as well as benefiting from mentors and supervisors from the private sector. This will equip participants with essential competencies such as a growth mindset, resilience, agile leadership style, creative and strategic thinking, collaboration, communication, and persuasion skills, among others.

The program units will be taught by certified Omani trainers who are graduates of the “Certified Leadership Coach Training Program” previously launched by the Academy, reflecting the Academy’s commitment to investing in the outputs of its programs.

It is worth noting that the Eller Executive Education Center at the University of Arizona, which collaborates with the Royal Academy of Management in designing and implementing the program, is one of the best specialized centers in its field. The Financial Times ranked it 24th globally in 2020 for executive education programs. The center is also recognized as a leading global institution in providing organizational development solutions for companies and institutions worldwide.
