Public Policy and Strategic Planning Program – Track One

Overview

The "Public Policy and Strategic Planning Program" aligns with the high-level directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq - may God protect him - to develop national leadership in the fields of public policy formulation and strategic planning. The program aims to prepare empowered national leaders in public policy formulation, development, and execution, and strategic planning to achieve national competitiveness. The program includes two tracks: the Excellency Undersecretaries Track – and their equivalents – and the General Managers Track – and their equivalents – within the state administrative apparatus. The program is implemented in collaboration with several leading global institutions specializing in government work and public service.

Study the Impact of Global Trends and Developments: Analyze how global trends and developments affect the Sultanate, its governance, and national priorities.

Identify Challenges for Government Leaders: Determine the challenges faced by government leaders at various levels.

Analyze, Develop, and Evaluate Strategies: Develop and assess strategies and policies to achieve the state's public policy goals.

Ability to understand, interpret, and convey public policies to the government and citizens in the Sultanate.

Strengthen cooperation and coordination among units within the state administrative apparatus to achieve the goals of Oman Vision 2040.

Understand how global trends and developments affect the competitiveness of the Sultanate.

Important Dates

First Track: Implementation from December 2022 to March 2023, consisting of 19 training days.

Second Track: Implementation from December 2022 to May 2023, consisting of 28 training days.
