The National Initiative for Local Administration Development

Overview

The launch of the National Initiative for Local Administration Development comes in alignment with the directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq - may Allah protect and preserve him - and His Majesty's interest in developing the governorates. The initiative is designed as a sustainable qualification pathway, implemented in collaboration with global experts. The Royal Academy of Management has considered local legislative frameworks and best international practices in designing the initiative, with a gradual implementation process starting with governors and then with regional officials.

Enhance the capabilities of governors and regional officials in governance and economic decentralization, and provide them with best practices in local administration.

Program Objectives

Support local leaders in the governorates (governors and regional officials) to achieve balanced local development in accordance with Oman Vision 2040, by enhancing their capabilities in governance and economic decentralization, and providing them with best practices in local administration. This aims to positively impact the development of the governorates and enhance their competitiveness.
