Master's Program in Leadership and Management for the Public Sector

Overview

The launch of the "Master's Program in Leadership and Management" is in line with the high directives of His Majesty Sultan Haitham bin Tariq – may God protect and preserve him – to develop government leadership at various levels. The program targets department heads and their equivalents within the administrative apparatus of the state. It aims to prepare young, promising national cadres who are academically and practically empowered, capable of evolving with the knowledge that keeps pace with the changing economy and its various intersections with digital, knowledge-based, circular, and innovation-driven economies. The program is designed in collaboration with Thunderbird School of Global Management at Arizona State University, which is renowned for its leadership and management education worldwide. Thunderbird's Master of Global Management program was ranked first globally by the Wall Street Journal/Times Higher Education in 2019, and Arizona State University has been ranked first for innovation by U.S. News & World Report for seven consecutive years (2016-2022). The university is also recommended by the Ministry of Higher Education, Research, and Innovation. Actual study for the program begins in January 2023, with courses delivered through a blended network learning system via a specialized digital platform, allowing participants to learn while on the job. Some supplementary courses will be conducted in-person in Oman, along with a scientific visit to the United States.
